Is this still happening?

Secrets of Dumbledore was a real low for the Wizarding World franchise. I don’t know anyone who loves that movie or the Fantastic Beasts movies as a whole or who would actually care about seeing a direct continuation with those storylines/characters. Are they still planning to make this movie and the 5th one? I don’t see how the series can continue excitingly with the current direction unless they change focus to a different story or characters within the same universe or go back directly to the core “Harry Potter” characters set after the events of the main series (ideally ignoring Cursed Child and/or setting it before the events of that play).

I think these movies are still making money, even if they're godawful. I still haven't been able to bring myself to see the 3rd one!

So if they're disappointing at the box office, they're more likely to continue with a reduced budget, than get canceled.

The 3rd one is probably the most boring fantasy adventure film I have ever seen. Nothing really happens except learning that Dumbledore was gay with the bad guy in the past and there is a minor fight scene toward the end. Most of the movie is just characters standing and talking

Hard to say. The third one made just a little over what was expected its opening weekend, and in the end the gross was just over twice the budget. So the finances argue yes. But my guess is they were still hoping for a more enthusiastic response, but people are experiencing fatigue, which they sense, because they're just not as fun as the originals, and were never going to be. My guess is yes, but at least another year before they really get underway about it, give us some time. Figure out their story.
