Slow Horses S02

The horses may be slow, but they still get there.

Just finished S02 and it was just as good and in some ways better than the first.

I have watched Gary Oldman in almost all of his adaptations and always liked him considering that he is one of those actors that adapt well to his roles.

There is not a single line in this series where his statements/comments are not humorous.

Great acting by everyone; especially by the other veteran actors like Jonathan Pryce, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Rade Serbedzija.

I'm glad it has been renewed for S03 and S04.

Really? You liked Season 2?

I thought Season 1 was really well done. Tight, clever and well acted with good characters.
I thought Season 2 was borderline terrible, and I did not like that they killed the Min Harper
character. They did not really push the whole Slough House and the backline plot forward.

Season 1 was fairly clever, and they had the comic relief of Gary Oldman, but Season 2 was not
as good, not as realistic, and Gary Oldman's schtick here is getting old, in my opinion.
This is a mediocre show that was renewal because Mick Jagger wrote the opening theme, and
it has Gary Oldman in it. They won't cancel that, it would be bad mojo for the British Isles.

I liked S1, but I much preferred S2. It had some great twists, solid pace, and each character was given something more. Best new show I've seen in a while.

None of it made any sense.

First, Min going out drinking with the Russians?

Then River being so stupid as to get tazed the suspect's daughter? Was he really thinking there was no connections, or possibility of connection.

Then the smuggling of the gun, search process was brain dead and would never happen.

There were so many ridiculous aspects to this Season, and no real advancing of the Catherine Standish - Jackson Lamb thing.

Then all of a sudden out of the blue Standish is a chess master?

First, Min going out drinking with the Russians?

Because he was caught by them and a gun was literally placed against his head.

Then River being so stupid as to get tazed the suspect's daughter? Was he really thinking there was no connections, or possibility of connection.

Because he was uncertain of who the sleeper was, later he admitted that he suspected it was the father. His misdirection caused him to be tazered by the actual suspect and then left alive to be used for further misdirections.

Then the smuggling of the gun, search process was brain dead and would never happen.

Umm, did you not notice the briefcase switch from the trunk of the car “after” the search process?

There were so many ridiculous aspects to this Season, and no real advancing of the Catherine Standish - Jackson Lamb thing.

If you watched the previews for S03, you will notice that they will continue with that narrative.

Then all of a sudden out of the blue Standish is a chess master?

So what, as she made her winning move, she explained the how, when, and with whom she had plenty of practice with…..are you sure that you watched this entire show without distraction and/or multitasking?! I have done this in the past and missed several key plots of a show.

As explained by Katinsky/Popov; almost everything that was done since the beginning of S02 was to have Jackson and his group look in one direction while their plans were elsewhere.

reply

You like it, I don't.
I don't agree with your rebuttals though.
