Why was the dad so stupid at the end?

He sees the douchebag bad guy is not all the way turned, yet he decided to stand there waiting for him to turn and attack him and his daughter and the pregnant lady, when he could've simply tossed him off the train while he was still human.

No instead he stands there talking to him as if he feels some kind of sympathy for the dirt bag, even though any second he's about turn into a ravenous zombie that could kill him and is daughter.

Then the idiot thinks its a good idea to put his hand directly over the zombies mouth so it can bite him, why? was he trying to get bit? cause theres other ways he could've grabbed him away from his daughter that wouldn't involve sticking his hand onto the zombies mouth.

I noticed that as well.

That's not what I saw.

The good guy knew he would have to fight the bad guy once he had turned. If he did not overpower him, he would have been killed and the bad guy would have then killed his wife and daughter.

Once he realised this, he decided to let himself get bitten, then overpower the bad guy while he still could and throw him off the train.

Once he did that, the only way to keep his wife and child safe was to fall from the train, therefore removing any chance of killing him wife and daughter after he had turned.

Anyway is stupid. Better to try to overpower the zombie without voluntarily get bitten.

You're missing the point. Had the father simply tossed the bad guy from the train BEFORE he turned then he would have survived. Also, the bad guy would have been much easier to overcome before he changed into a zombie.

The woman wasn't his wife. She was a stranger to him before getting on the train.
The whole point of the man and his daughter going to Busan was to see the wife (or maybe she was his ex-wife), because the girl wanted to see her mother for her birthday.
