Talking directly to the audience is a lame, played out cliche

It made this movie so hard to watch. I eventually just gave up watching it. It doesn't add anything to the experience, it just takes you out of the movie and reminds you that what you're watching isn't real. It was a trendy thing to do 10 years ago but these days it's just a rehash of something someone more trendy did 10 years ago and comes across as tryhard.

Well it works for other people. Just because you moved on from it doesn't mean hollywood has to cater to you. Get over it.

Its usually confusing when its Hollywood, and the story doesn't add up.

Nah, breaking the fourth wall will always be trendy.

I wasn't a big fan of this film but the fourth wall didn't bother me - in fact it was the offbeat nature of the movie, along with the relentless pace, which kept me more or less interested throughout.
