Did this live up to the hype? As in David Fincher+70s+Serial Killers?

reply

Yes, very much so👍
I found the wife/girlfriend/family stuff to be a bit slow but I get why it was included
Overall a terrific series

The Ed Kemper actor was so perfect it was scary...hell, most of it was perfect

Fantastic show, I agree with someone who says the girlfriend stuff slows it down but it wasn't a massive minus. With the way it ended between them hopefully that's the last we see of her, once she cheated on Holden I lost interest in her and the storyline and it was just a matter of when they broke up. Hannah Gross playing Debbie was very good in her part and didn't let the side down.

Cameron Britton as Edmund is damn scary. For a while I thought Wendy and Holden were going to end up a will they won't they thing, but mid way through the season that was pretty much put to bed with her been Lesbian. I think the performances across the board are very good (not getting the Jonathan Groff hate on here), and for Fincher work it's always going to look excellent in terms of it's camera work.

I just hope for second season that Holden isn't out of action for most of the season. We see get to see more of Wendy (Anna Torv is excellent in this). I give the first season 9/10
