You know how I feel about weapons in our house...

OMFG just how clueless are you, woman?

Even assuming you might have a point there (which you don't) this is not your freaking house, you dumbass. It's an alien planet with who knows what out there, there's no 911 to call, there's a goddamn alien robot walking around. But nooo, guns bad.

Unbelievable.

i couldn’t believe they didn’t have weapons on board in case something happened to the printer.

In case you haven't noticed, this show, like ST-Discovery, isn't immune to "progressiveness" that seems to have overtaken the industry.
Apart from the anti-gun stance you have (for no good reason) a female Dr Smith, a black Judy and a Maureen that wears the pants in the relationship.

reply

And seems to have a bigger dick than her pussy-whipped husband...

...who incidentally used to kill people for a living.

I would have spaced her when on the big ship.

I was thinking the same thing when those two lizards attacked the camp. Did not one of those people think maybe bringing some defensive weapons when exploring an unknown alien planet would be a good idea!

reply

They had a defense perimeter operating which would have least triggered motion sensors, but that Dr. Smith bitch disabled it ON PURPOSE!!!!

reply

Not sure what good motion sensors would do since any threats that got detected, they would need to handle bare handed!

reply

It's akin to people telling you to call the police during a home invasion...

It's like the old saying:
"The police are only minutes away when seconds count."

When Maureen voices her objections to "weapons in the house" she is talking about things used to kill people, not hunting rifles or shotguns.

reply

Victims in the recent Capital Gazette shooting would disagree with your characterization.

A gun is a gun is a gun. The question is who uses it.

And are there good people with more guns around to stop a bad guy with one.

reply

A good point. A firearm is a tool and, as such, is as safe or dangerous as the person that uses it.

ADDITION: I just saw first season episode 5. If that doesn't show the importance of having firearms (and the flaw of not having firearms), nothing will!!!

ANOTHER ADDITION: When Maureen voices her displeasure against "weapons in the house" she is not talking about something like a shotgun, a firearm that would be very useful in wilderness survival. Rather, she expressed her displeasure at handguns. So, that being said, WHERE ARE THE @#*%^&&% FIREARMS???
