Klingon with hair, in a dress! They went bald for wars back in the day.

The second season trailer for Star Trek: Discovery released two weeks ago at NYCC revealed a new look for the Klingons, confirming that they now have hair. But it was a brief glimpse. Today during the Destination Star Trek convention being held in Birmingham, UK, CBS released a new image of L’Rell, and now fans can get a better look.

I think it’s great they gave them their hair back to finally look more Klingon.

But why did they do it what do you think?

Was it always the plan, for them to have the shaved heads only when they are at war, and grow their hair when at peace or the show-runners realized they messed it up and because of the bald Klingons backlash they decided to give them back the hair in season 2 and made up a tradition of shaving heads when at war?

I tend to think it’s the latter. They fucked it up and now trying to fix it.

reply

They fucked up and are trying to fix it. They have the lame excuse now that klingons had Shaved heads last season because they were at war...🙄🙄🙄🙄.....yet they said last season they looked different because of different houses....fucking stupid excuses.....

Alex Kurtzman Compares Expansion Of Star Trek To Marvel, Discusses Becoming ‘Discovery’ Showrunner
https://trekmovie.com/2019/01/09/alex-kurtzman-compares-expansion-of-star-trek-to-marvel-discusses-becoming-discovery-showrunner/

Over the last few months we have seen a number of new Star Trek shows announced, all under the guidance of producer Alex Kurtzman, who has been charged with overseeing the Trek TV universe for CBS. A series with Patrick Stewart returning to the role of Picard starts production in April with a planned release later this year, and Rick and Morty’s Mike McMahan has been tapped to create an animated Trek comedy. A new Hollywood Reporter interview with Alex Kurtzman confirms previous reports that there are two additional live-action shows under consideration, stating there are “deals for a Michelle Yeoh-led offshoot, [first reported in November] and a youth-focused entry (Starfleet Academy) among other series in the works.”

Hmm, for some reason I am somewhat excited for S2 now after all previous issues I had with S1. Nice to see Pike take the captain seat.

Even more Kurtzman! https://ew.com/tv/2019/01/11/star-trek-discovery-canon/

Star Trek: Discovery‘s new showrunner Alex Kurtzman below discusses season 2 of the CBS All Access series, which is undergoing a bit of a creative overall for its latest voyage. The show is a bit lighter, has some more humor and adds a couple of familiar characters from The Original Series (Captain Pike played by Anson Mount, and Spock played by Ethan Peck). Kurtzman also worked on the J.J. Abrams Trek movies and is producing the upcoming Jean Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) series. We talked about all of that, plus debated the showrunner a bit on the always touchy issue of Star Trek canon — and how much staying consistent with Trek’s past should actually matter.
