Marvel is scaling back their budget for superhero films
Usually they put up about 200 million, but only budgeted 75 for Morbius. Will still probably lose money.

shareIt's Sony. Disney is the one with billions production budget.
shareStrictly speaking, this isn't a Marvel film. Back before Marvel got into the movie-making business, the licenses their most popular heroes to other studios, and each hero's villains came along as part of the deal. That's why Sony has Venom and Morbius. It's a shame, because Sony's movies have been uniformly terrible, while the films Marvel has made have all been great. I'd like to see what Marvel Studios could have done with Venom or Morbius.
shareAll Marvel movies have been great? I can name a few that have been garbage. Maybe Marvel could have made Venom and Morbius just as good as Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2 & 3, Black Widow, Captain Marvel, The Eternals, or even Antman & the Wasp.
shareThe Dark World and Iron Man 3 are two of the worst films of the MCU, but they are both still very good films. Meanwhile Captain Marvel and Eternals are both excellent films. The two Venom films are terrible, unwatchable messes. I've not seen Morbius, but it seems it's as bad or worse.
shareCan take someone who thinks Eternals is a good movie seriously.
