Acting sucked, two kids and a conspiracy theorist manage to bypass all security in on of the biggest facilities in the world and only get caught trying to break into the main facility computer. The only good parts were the fights between Godzilla and Kong, and why bring Mechagodzilla into it when that should have been its own separate movie?
Critics must have been paid tons of cash to rate this thing anywhere above 50%.

The fights, effects, and mythology were all really well done. Fun and engaging. It makes you wonder why they don't make more of an effort to make the human stuff more interesting. If you look back at the entire series, Godzilla is probably the best one because it was a well-made movie. The humans still weren't super interesting, but it was actually well-made. It's a real movie. The rest are just action.

shareWhat makes a good Godzilla movie is the fights. Never the plot nor characters. They are traditionally throw-away filler. In this movie half of the fights are good.
1. Fight 1: Sweet. A solid fight at sea. Good destruction and unique.
2. Fight 2: G v K in Tokyo. Very good but the axe is stupid.
3. Fight 3: Though Mechagodzilla looked cool, his fight was a major let down. Typical Hollywood flaws in fighting. Losing means allll losing until it is time for winning and then it is allll winning. Like a Rocky movie in which Rocky will take multiple punches with arms down before suddenly able to fight back. Never any give and take. No actual fight. Looked good but sucked.
The little encounter in Hollow Earth was cool too.
Way better than KotM but not nearly as good as Skull Island or Godzilla 2014. 75% is too high. somewhere in the 50% to 60% is better.
