Wow 1.5 Stars!!

This does not bode well...

I'm curious why? Is that bad. I want to see more comments about it. With such a low rating I won't even bother watching it.

reply

Me too. Sounds like fun, even if it is just senseless violence. It is extremely suspicious that so many 1s are voted and there no reviews, but almost 6000 votes. Did somebody attempt to cancel it?

reply

I have not seen it but the review from Tribeca Film Festival was not that great. I wonder why Paramount Pictures have not released it but its probably covid related.

reply

This sounds like my cup of tea and I'm already after it. Will report later today or in the coming days.

IMDb updated the number of votes. Now there are 6147 votes and few hours ago there were around 5800. I don't remember the number of 1 votes then, but now they are 5825, which means that significant amount, if not all, of the new votes were 1.

What is this? A movie shot with a 8 megapixel camera by a bunch of halfwits? Very fishy.

Here am I with the promised report. Beautifully shot and acted movie with an ambition outstretching director's and writer's abilities to convince us and make us care about the characters. It tackles an important issue, because it seems that there is a rise in cases of kids perpetrating violent acts for laughs because they fail to see others for anything more than GTA NPCs. Fucked up poor families that produce fucked up kids... But a failure to tell it in a coherent and convicting way. As some reviewer said - the filmmakers didn't know what to do with all the talented actors.

I would have gave it 6 if the somewhat disjointed acts of violence were more in the face - at times it felt like the movie is about to step into the exploitation zone, but it doesn't and of course it shouldn't because it tries to discuss serious business.

Now about the rating. As I'm writing this the movie has a 1.2 rating from 6218 votes, 5888 of which are 1s and still no user reviews. Meaning 71 new votes since my last mark of which 63 are 1s. I say that it is 5.5 movie and its fair rating is between 5 and 6. I'll give it 5, but I feel that many people would give it even more. I don't know what is going on, but somebody doesn't want you to see this movie. Either personal vendetta or some dumb American political thing. Jeez...

reply

The movie now is rated 1.1. I wonder if they will be able to push it in the bottom 100.

I wonder how this is done. Maybe through some gig job sites, perhaps Indian? Or some crazy people are registering fake accounts?

IMDb should do something about it.

Just watched the trailer: https://youtu.be/3kmEI_IKWc8
Not interested. Didn't know Amber Heard was in it, not listed as a main actor.

It had a low rating before the Jun 4 opening, and it wasn't from Tribeca. Heard derangement disorder!

I missed something at the trailer: 66K down votes, 20% of views. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kmEI_IKWc8

WTF is up with the comments? Most are in Russian. Why do you hate Amber, Comrades? Did Putin put you up to this?

reply

Thanks for pointing out this. Looks like they are Johnny Depp fans. Many are saying "We are not bots, we are part of the ship" and such. Amber has like 3 minutes screen time.
