It's a crime that James McAvoy....
....didn't at least get a Best Actor nomination, let alone win. This guy is phenomenal.

shareHe was awesome in this movie! He really is a good actor. Its like he did acting on top of acting within this film
shareAnd he even topped himself in Glass!! What an absolute feat it would have been if he had gotten nominated for Best Actor and won for Split and then nominated for Best Actor and won for Glass for the same character. That would have been just phenomenal, and well deserved too!!
shareCrime indeed, but a movie like this...it was never gonna get any attention from the academy.
shareI can definitely see the movie or the director not getting any attention from the academy, for sure. But as far as performances goes, this is hands down oscar-worthy. The academy is garbage.
shareFor reals. I always recommended Split to people. Even without McAvoy, it's a tight, effective thriller. His gimmick for the film just elevates the film a few notches further thanks to his incredible range. I still get kinda emotional whenever I think about Kevin's appearance at the end of the film. When he's slowly realizing what's happened since he'd last been in control. He's scared, upset, determined, all in one go when he explains where the shotgun is.
shareI have a feeling that years from now James will be recognized in the greatest actors lists along with Pacino, De Niro, Nicholson, Oldman, Olivier, Brando, Day-Lewis, Washington, Hoffman, Freeman, Newman, Bale, Stewart, Eastwood et al.
shareNot all Oscar-hungry performances are actually Oscar-worthy. And sorry, I'd call this one Oscar-hungry.
sharehe was outstanding in this.
