Just saw it [no spoilers]

It was great. Very, very different than the rest of the franchise. Can't really go into story details, but I liked it. Gorgeously shot and directed and very well told.
The intro sequence is amazing and jaw dropping. The rest of the movie is exciting and emotional. Its very dark. I thought it wasn't really a kids movie. It not an uplifting, fun adventure. Gong to see it again tonight. Its definitely a movie that takes a while to process.
I can imagine people liking the other movies and not this one, or vice versa, just because its so different.

I'm very excited to see where it goes. Waiting for 3 years again.

That sounds more like it.

Professional critics in Rotten Tomatoes have being kind of tough with this one (critics 63%, users wants to see 99%, just the opposite of TLJ or Soylo). That's surprising (ahem) after such praise for Last Jedi, or Black Panther, and even Soylo. And this one has Bayona behind the Cameras, who is an amazing director and the one that has gotten closer to that 'Spielberg feeling' than anyone, including JJ Abrams who tries hard and fails. Seemed odd, low scores.

It seems that modern critic score is based in:
-Female empowered action-hero: +1 point.
-Racial Diversity in good guys: +1 point.
-Main character black: +1 point.
-Whites are evil villains: +1 point.
-Disney: +1 point.

This one fell short and didn't score. As it happens with air controllers, merits score negatively.

I can honestly say : Fuck the critics. I am seriously tired of them. As a fan of Jurassic Park from childhood, this movie was amazing. I loved it and I am very excited for the next one. I grew up with these movies and I probably saw JP about 1000 times. I rewatch them every year and before FK I watched all of them again.
Bayona is a master. You can clearly see his vision and craftsmanship behind this. Its totally different from the rest.

I can understand why some people might not like it, but objectively if you look at the way the movie is made, its not bad. You cannot, in any sense, give this movie such harse reviews. I think the lowest you could ever give this movie is a 7. Never lower. Lower than that is bullshit and fake. I can understand if its not your cup of tea but that doesnt make the movie bad.

Bare in mind that this has an average of 6.2/10 while Ocean's Eight has a 6.3/10. But the latter has a 69% atm while this is hovering around 62%. Rotten Tomatoes is useful up to a point but eventually it only matters to idiots.

agreed. i loved the darker tone. the (human) villains were too grim and cartoonish though. apart from that, a very enjoyable monster movie. also, fallen kingdom nailed the fx shots opposed to its predecessor.

reply

Agreed. Except for the human villains. I thought they were good enough. The movie was about the dinosaurs anyway so I didnt really mind the bad character development of the villains. They were just there to drive the plot.

Speaking of shots, this movie probably has the best shots in the entire franchise.

out of curiosity, which country won the first auction in the movie you watch? I live in Indonesia, and the winner was from Indonesia

reply

For me it was also Indonesia. I don't think they have different versions.

reply

Good to know. I'm willing to give it a watch. I enjoyed 2 of them, so will probably like this one too.
