Fantastic movie

I just happened to see Timetrap on Netflix as I was scrolling by in Netflix and the name caught my attention and so I watched it as I love time travel movies.

Man, was this movie pretty good or what. Fantastic concept and really mostly well realized.

The girl Cara (who somewhat looks like Amy Adams) is not only pretty but acted decently well.
Rest of the cast also rounded out nicely.

Although many of their decisions and reactions seem a little off imo they are plausible and maybe acceptable.

Hopefully they saved the Cavemen from their torture along with saving the conquistadors and others who were fighting near the actual fountain of youth.

I think the concept of this movie is very good and the production was pretty good too.
It can be expanded into some kind of a TV show with weeks, months, years and some kind of colony development down in the cave and so on.

Loved the movie.

Rating: 8.5/10

The acting was TRASH and the way the movie is filmed is like some high school project. Plot and execution was good and i know it couldve been alot better.

The acting was low quality as was the goofy dialog but the concept is enthralling and they did do a great job with the story. No cheesy time travel backwards to reset everything properly but it did have a happy enough ending in the end.

Puzzling thing was at the end the ropes go in to the cave which is on Earth, pulls them out via that water suction and now they're in high orbit around earth??

Also, given the Earth shot at the end with the continents fused together, it's definitely something like 150mn to 200million years in the future. Good to see evolved creatures (at least the fingers) but I feel the triangular ship design being the same was a bit odd.

Another odd thing is - there's layers of time waves and near the entrance it is definitely lesser of a time ripple.
But given Hopper sees that Cowboy trapped there right at entrance after something like 30-40 years, it means the group of friends should've seen Hopper stuck in ultra slo-mo right at the entrance along with the cowboy easily.

That part was not handled well.

Hope someone continues this fantastic concept with a good TV series. Not that lame The 100 or such teeny boppy crap but actual good SciFi

Good comments. I feel much the same way. It was definitely a nice surprise overall as I had not heard of the film before. It was made on a $1m budget and had great concepts. The original idea was to make a found footage film, wonder how that would have been.

Remember when the injured woman is left to sit and wait while the others go and investigate Furby's radio transmissions? The time spent on her waiting and throwing the glow sticks seemed like something was going to happen, and then when she crawled into cave room catching up with the others she kept her head down for a very long time. I kept expecting her to look up and the others would react in fright to see she has aged a lot or something weird like that.

Loved this movie.
It seemed like a unique take on time travel.
The blonde girl reminded me of Anna Camp from Pitch Perfect and Tru Blood

On a rewatch noticed something else quite odd - Kara goes up again to investigate and is looking for a signal and keeps coughing due to sandstorms and low oxygen level and sees the triangular spaceship above. This spaceship clearly picked up her presence and hence they came down presumably from that ship.

But she says that she was up there for 30m and then goes back down where only a second or two has passed.

Given what we witnessed inside the cave, the timeframe does not gel. 30m up for her is very likely microseconds only for them. So she went up and down basically instantaneously which what not how it was shown with the sun spinning so fast that it was seasons going by every second or maybe even years going by.

The fountain likely is where time almost stops but there's clearly concentric circles of time waves emanating from it with different time passages.

Fantastic concept and movie still. I hope there is a sequel or follow up TV Series on this concept.
