The most he got was one 3rd place and x2 2nd place out of like 32 races he's done. Just because you did good in game doesn't translate to real world success of actual drivers.
3rd with zero experience is pretty damn good!
I've track raced a bunch. there's there's a hell of a lot more to it than gas/break and steering
I wouldn't say zero experience, he had some from the games that give you an idea on when to brake/gas due to simulation realism and then he got trained a bit before officially racing. They didn't just slap him into a real vehicle and let him go.
shareThe movie does not show the time line correctly, some events in the movie took 5 years to happen. Anyway, the title of this thread is horrible, people think the only way to be "successful" racing cars is winning all sorts of top races. He has had a very decent career and just the thing that he didn't start racing real cars as a kid and jumped those steps is amazing.
