While it hasn't garnered as much praise as the first three shows, it has been getting mostly great reviews. Yes more than a few have indicated that it's not quite the strongest of the Marvel Netflix series (it goes without saying it's seen as far superior to Iron Fist), but the consensus seems to be that The Defenders is well-executed and does the characters justice; it's indeed a team up worth all the hype.

Reviews aside, I'm pumped!

I thought it was great.

It wasn't terrible, although there were aspects of it that were (every scene with iron fist). It has an 8.2 rating on imdb at the moment. That's not accurate even when taking into account the curve US tv shows get rated on. A rating in the 6's would probably be closer to the actual quality. Nothing in the dialogue, the fight scenes, or the plot would suggest it's an above average show that an 8 rating would suggest.

Different strokes with different folks, I guess. I thought it had the best fight scenes since Daredevil season 1 and I really loved everyone getting together. I also thought Danny Rand had a major improvement all around.

Unsurprisingly, I loved the entire thing. The most well-choreographed and exciting fight scenes since Daredevil? Yup. In addition to that, the characters' interactions, build up, and overall execution is superb (I also couldn't agree more about the handling of Danny). And though I kinda felt like the big bad and their plan was somewhat underwhelming, the hand and Elektra did get a worthy storyline. Plus, I thought there was great tension created between the villains and The Defenders throughout.

Regarding the negative reviews, there's so much nitpicking in the criticism I've seen it's ridiculous. Idk, trying to be fair I'll say the issues some had with the show sound fair. But in terms of performances, lightning, action, direction, dialogue and even self-awareness, to me the show completely delivered. Above all, it's just amazing to see these characters kicking ass together (or simply chatting it up).

I haven't hated the Hand storyline as much as others. Especially when it comes to Madame Gao who I consider to be an underrated villain. She's like an evil Yoda. They're not Cottonmouth, Killgrave, or Kingpin but I found them serviceable. My biggest concern was that we would get badass action sequences and see these characters interact and bounce off one another. I didn't need a super complex plot this time around because I think that would've distracted from the characters.

It's similar to Avengers. The plot to Avengers was very straight forward: Loki wants a MacGuffin so he can invade Earth. The selling point of Avengers was that we got to see these heroes come together. I'm surprised more people don't get that.

I thoroughly agree. I myself always liked The Hand, but I suppose I kinda expected just a bit more from them on The Defenders. But all in all, I found their motives presence on the show pleasing.

And yes, The Defenders coming together like The Avengers is what I consider the thing that matters the most in the end.

it was a little disappointing imo but still good.
