Damon says hes open to doing another Bourne

saw an interview with him promoting his new film on The One Show (uk) the presenter asked him if hed ever do another Bourne and he said sure if they could up with a decent script he and Greengrass would do it

i guess the obvious thing would be to bring in Jeremy Renner and have him face off against Bourne (until the end when they team up to take on the baddies). thats probably the only thing that could interest audiences at this point (after this movie was sort of meh) mainly as itd be Bourne vs Hawkeye lol also bring back Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton to mix with the usual Matt Damon Bourne support cast. and bring in someone like Sam Neill as the main villain and Dave Bautista in the henchman role that Bourne has to defeat with a rolled up graphic novel (that would make the entire cast MCU lol)

i mean they'd have to bring it all back together.

both Damon and the director have stated they were burned out. But years go bye. I'd love a redemption tour.

I haven't seen this 'Jason Bourne' film because the reviews were so bad. I enjoyed the original trilogy very much even though they basically just made the same film three times with the last two marred by wobble-cam and the last one marred by washed out colours as well.

What I thought they should have done for the fourth Jason Bourne movie was to have taken the film Hanna (2011) with Saoirse Ronan and turned it into a Bourne film instead of whatever it was. 'Hanna' was thematically very close to the Bourne films. She was part of a rogue CIA Operation to create super soldiers just as Jason Bourne was.

So I would have used a shortened version of the 'Hanna' story to set the scene and then picked up where Hanna has a showdown with Marissa Wiegler (the CIA agent behind the Operation) and kills her. Wiegler ran the Operation with the help of the Russians so they could use genetic enhancements. When the Russians clocked Wiegler arriving in Berlin they put an agent on to tail her and this agent observed the confrontation where Wiegler shot Hanna and Hanna then killed her.

The Russian agent's handler puts two and two together from Hanna's approximate age and her obvious physical prowess and deduces she is the long lost girl from the joint Operation. So he tells his agent to follow Hanna and sends a team to abduct her.

Later the CIA learns that Wiegler has been found dead and investigates the crime scene and takes blood samples. Back at Langley after examining the blood the CIA lab finds anomalies in the DNA that can only be explained by scientific gene manipulation. They do a wide search looking for DNA matches and up come the files of Jason Bourne and Nicky Parsons as Hanna's biological parents.

And the story would proceed from there. It's too late to do it now I suppose as they have killed off Nicky Parsons. But I think it could have been a winner by bringing Nicky (a very popular side character) and her hinted at past with Jason Bourne into the story.

Watch it. It’s really not that bad.

Nah. From what I've read it really is that bad. I always appreciate unsolicited and useless "advice" from a sock puppet though.

It’s kinda like Jason Statham movies that are bad….ignore the acting the fighting is worth the watch.

I think they're doing the right thing now, leaving Bourne on the shelf. This is the perfect retirement package for Damon to rest on in his later years. As Cruise is doing with Mission Impossible and Neeson has done with Taken and his dozen Taken knockoff movies. Give people a good long while to miss the character and be thrilled to have him back, and then crank out a series of adventures with an older, seasoned Bourne who's no longer missing half his noodle.
