Thor.3's plot hinged on safely evacuating Asgard during the apocalypse and Hela's rage. Mission accomplished. Except the surviving fleet was massacred by Thanos shortly thereafter. Bloops.

shareI know what you mean; I felt the same way about "Alien3" killing off Newt.
However, Thor told Groot & Rocket that (only) "half" of his people were killed by Thanos.
Vakyrie/Brunhilde, Miek & Korg were missing from the (admittedly numerous) bodies aboard their ship, even though they purposely showed at least one dead member of Korg's "rebellion."
MCU/Disney has already expressed interest in a Miek & Korg spinoff.
My guess is Heimdall managed to evacuate them, along with half the Asgardians, the moment they came under attack.
Meanwhile, the "Ragnarok" left Thor with (more than) Odin's power, which definitely came in handy in this film. So there was at least one very important consequence of that film.
