Why did Dumbledore, Aurors etc... wear suits and not robes?

reply

I agree, Dumbledore looks totally ridiculous and out of character with that 3 piece suits. And the Auror just came out of the matrix.

reply

At the very least, he should have been in robes at school!

Don't be stupid. Lots of teachers wore suits in the Harry Potter films. I'm sure he wears the robes on occasion and as he gets older he eventually wears them all the time. Sorry it's a stupid complaint.....

It was a different time.

K, it was film liberty reasons.

I didn’t have an issue with it, personally. In fact, as odd as this may sound, I’m having a hard time seeing Dumbledore and some of the others wearing the traditional robes in this film (after all it’s not like this was the first time we saw Dumbledore in a suit).

Well I *do* have an issue with it! Rowling was very precise about wizarding dress in the books, and while I didnt really like the costumes in the first first go-round of films, I liked that tg hey stuck to the idea of wizards and muggles having different dress codes.

Of course the overly-muggled costumes are the least of the problems found in the "FB" franchise, but they still annoy me
