I got the story and the tragedy that happened to the guy, and so why would his brother leave his son to be taken care of by him, and especially without talking to him about it?

Most of it made no real sense. Lee's constant fights were annoying, a substitute for having to write an actual scene and story.

The living dead is what Lee was. I guess it is good to have a movie that makes this point, it's just that this was not really a very clear and good story to do that.

There is a lot of stuff related to this kind of story, and all the movie could focus on was Lee fighting or making a scene. Yes, I get that he was damaged for life by one moment of drunken stupidity. So, one thing, he shouldn't be drinking.

It was almost totally absent of warm colors too. Now they have taken to using subliminal cues in movies by color, it almost hurt the eyes to watch this movie.

I think this was a 4/10 to 5/10.

I just saw an hour of it and came here to see what the fuzz was about - and I think I'm going to delete it.

If you got that far, you might as well finish it... the story doesn't make much sense until some stuff is revealed in the middle. If you got to the reveal and you still don't like it... then yeah you should probably quit.

I did fast-forward till the end - it's all dark and not particularly emotive. I don't think I missed much.

I get that there may be a huge pay off at the end - but a great movie grips you at the very beginning. If there really was some really cool reveal at the end, I don't think the director really messed things up in the first half. Having said that - from what I can tell by reading some of the comments here, it doesn't seem like the reward at the end of the film is worth the monotony one has to sit through in this fairly lengthy film.

There wasn't a huge pay off at the end. It's just that in the middle you find out the backstory of this family. Lee's behavior and emotional responses begin to make sense in view of what he's been through. And you begin to understand why his brother made him the kid's guardian.

This movie definitely isn't for everyone. It's slow moving with the character development taking place very slowly, but it makes sense within the context of the story and in view of what real life can be like.

I think it will be more meaningful for those who've been through some seriously difficult life experiences.
