Very good!

I liked it a lot, Elle Fanning is such a great actress!

It was a passable film, worth watching for Elle Fanning's performance alone. It probably would have been more interesting if it was more then just a romantic driven film and more just on Mary herself, more on the art and Mary then it been just about her romance with Percy. Haifaa al-Mansour as the director, did try to add some nice touches to the film. You have some nice performances from Douglas Booth as Percy Shelly and the underrated Bel Powley as her step sister. Tom Sturridge had nice turn as Lord Bryon.

I watched it on Netflix and it was a passable watch and nothing that will stay with you. I think it's another very good performance from Fanning to add to her resume. But it won't go down as anyone's greatest work.

I really liked her sis Dakota in Charlotte's Web. Elle was pretty good in this pic. I was never a fan of Frankenstein, but was surprised to learn it was written by a woman. Mary was truly a literary pioneer considering the obstacles female authors faced back then. Percy was a jackass! The baby that was casted to play their daughter was cute. Nor would I have guessed that the Shelleys led such bohemian lives for that era.

I just saw in their Wiki bios, that Bel and Douglas are engaged.

I liked it also, especially because it seemed to tell the actual story rather than making up a bunch of details designed to elicit more drama or comedy. I prefer that, even if the story seems a bit slow at times. I wish there had been more ideas in it - more of the thinking of these famous writers. Those scenes where the poets seem to be making up poetry on the spot really rang false though. That's not the way things work.
