More people should see this.

Sure it's a small budget indy but that shouldn't stop you from seeing anything. This one is actually worth your time.

Besides, I need to discuss the ending with someone!

reply

Discuss away. I just watched it.

reply

i was positively surprised.

reply

are you inviting me over to your place to watch the DVD?

reply

Just watched it myself. Pretty good story progression after a bit of tedium at the beginning. I felt awful for Frank having to start over after the first reboot.

I'll post a separate discussion thread for the ending, etc.. Just want to say here that I can't imagine most people are actively avoiding indie pictures. They just don't actively look for them and the marketing tends to be sparser than for Hollywood flicks. If anyone out there IS avoiding indie flicks, you should be paying more attention to genre. Indie sci fi tends towards a scale of "respectable, if underwhelming" to "awesome." The people who make those films tend to be purists who care more about being true to sci fi (and/or actual science, depending on their bent), whereas Hollywood producers have literal formulas to maximize profits and have turned away from supporting (new) auteurs.

reply

People actively avoiding indie pictures are being socially conditioned to watch Hollywood crap and reality shows.

reply

No entirely true.

I support indie.... GOOD indie.... the issue is, not many are "good". Or are too bloated.

Many indies do this:
"I want to make a FEATURE FILM length movie, out of a 30 minute worth idea."
That is the case here as well.

Everyone is different and allowed to like different things, but I see the above frame of mind all too often with indie films. then they have to pad it out with pointless fillers to try to SEEM like a longer idea... then they wonder why so few watch them.
Just make the short film and move on. And take the time to write a full sized fleshed out feature length that doesn't need filler padding.

Astute observation. Looking at the reviews this film is just like that.

reply

agreed.
