Every time I think I've seen the best possible trailer for this film, a new one is released that tops it. Today's new one is hands down the best one yet. There are a couple sequences of Godzilla battling Ghidorah that I had to pause and rewatch like a half dozen times apiece. The CGI looks flawless, and the battles promise to be epic. shareI'm talking about the music they used at the end of those 5min before Shazam IMAX. I thought that trailer (after the footage) was going to be this final trailer but it's different. Maybe they'll use that section for another tv spot.
shareI've seen some trailers that use Nessun Dorma from Puccini's opera Turandot. I like that juxtaposition, too, though that particular song gets used so often that it doesn't have quite the impact it once did. Over the Rainbow would be the last song I'd have thought would work while alongside Godzilla, but damned if it isn't a perfect fit.
shareI like it but OVer the Rainbow was used for the "Beautiful" spot. I know this is a different version but still. I liked the drama and climax of Nessun Dorma for a trailer showing what it did -- including Burning Godzilla. I hope there's a tv spot like that left.
shareEvery time they show soldiers shooting their little pellet guns at the behemoths I just shake my head.
shareEven as a kid I remember thinking that in every Godzilla movie, when the monster shows up, they roll out the same little tanks and missile launchers, and launch the same fighter jets, knowing full well how ineffective they'll be. Yet they never learn.
