Did this movie kill the franchise?

I liked the first Jack Reacher, like most viewers did (I'm not a fan of the books).
I didn't like this steaming pile of crap.
But I still hoped they would continue the franchise with some more interesting investigation for Jack, like the first one.
Did this turd fill the franchise?

I know lots of people complained about Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher (I didn't), and now Amazon is making a series with some of the creators of this franchise involved.
Is that the nail in the coffin for this series of movies?
I wish they made a third one, just to leave on a better note than this one.

The franchise was stillborn. The first movie was merely watchable and that is mostly because of great camera work. Hopefully the series that's coming up will work.

The first one is a solid movie with an interesting character.
It could have been a successful frenchise, it was definitely promising, what stillborn.
This turd killed it.

As much as 95% of this website will disagree with this, for anyone who's read the Jack Reacher Novels by Lee Child, Reacher, is incredibly imposing at 6 foot 6 weighing 300 plus LBS and not Tom Cruise at all but 5 foot 4 inches of him.. It's just not folks..
