shareMy only question is whether the humor helps or hurts the D&D brand. Will people be motivated to buy D&D merch, games, books and other swag? A funny movie that makes a mockery of D&D might achieve short-term success with movie ticket sales BUT it might destroy the public's enthusiasm for the games, merch, action figures, etc. I don't think little boys will want to buy wimpy bard action figures or muscular female barbarian action figures.
I had previously expressed my concerns about the comedic elements of the film but it might become a cult classic.
