Anyone disappointed?

First off, I loved the first Pitch Perfect film. It was funny, toe-tapping and simply hilarous. In fact, I rated it 9/10. But this one, nah, what can I say? This sequel was just terrible. Plenty of cringe-worthy jokes, the script was predictable, Emily and Benji's love story subplot was terrible, and Anna Kendrick's fails to deliver the goods as the female lead in this sequel. Overall, I prefer to watch the first movie again and again. This was just a failure. I rated it 4/10 since I liked the soundtrack especially the "flashlight" and the rip-off. Anyone else disappointed?

SO DISAPPOINTED! I think part of it was that this wasn't based on a book, or had much of a coherent script at all, from what I could tell. My other complaint was that I didn't think Elizabeth Banks was capable to direct it. Which is why I'm not looking forward to Pitch Perfect 3, because she's also directing it. There was also too much "throwaway" racism and sexism that I think was supposed to make fun of conservatives that was just annoying.

The first one wasn't based on a book either. They drew their inspiration from a non fictional book about accapella collegiate competitions so they credited it but the script was completely original.

Agreed, I loved the first Pitch Perfect, but the 2nd one fell flat for me.

It followed the same formula as the 1st and I think that made it predictable to me.
At least the announcers were funny.

I feel disappointed too, and I loved the first one but this failed to deliver by a long shot. I don't know what happened. My rating is 5/10, don't think I'll ever watch it again.

Break the rules and in a couple of years you will have a hell of a story to tell.

Pitch Perfect 2!

Still I couldn't get it that how it knocked Mad Max at the BO last year. To me, it was almost a copy-and-paste framework of the original.

In short, just watchable and predictable. Rebel Wilson wins the best kiss for trying to shake her boobs a lot.
Hailee Steinfeld is a surprise!

It was awful. I watched the first one several times and enjoyed it every time, but this one only gave me a headache. Bad music, not so many funny jokes, and a predictable plot.

Nope. Watched the first movie for the first time about a week ago, fell in love with it and immediately ordered this one online, and after seeing it... I liked this one almost as much as the first.

I think this one is a bit more rough-around-the-edges and had some problems, but not enough that I disliked it. For me, the original was a near-perfect 9 out of 10 for sheer heart and entertainment. This one was a very good 8 out of 10. Very worthy sequel, in my opinion, and I'm not even the target audience for these types of films. I'm a 28-year-old guy who is a fan of all things horror and exploitation, and even I loved them. They're in the same camp as classics like Clueless and Mean Girls to me... movies that are so good, so pleasant and so fun, they can appeal to everyone, no matter age, gender, usual preference of movies, etc.

And FURTHERMORE, this is my signature! SERIOUSLY! Did you think I was still talking about my point?
