Is this for real?

Please tell me it isn't.

I haven’t even seen Genesis or Dark Fate and don’t intend to. The Terminator series ended at the close of T2, these shitty ‘sequels’ are not canon at all, they’re parasites that deserve only to be derided and ignored.

Believe me you weren’t missing much by skipping Genesis and Dark Fate. These people have milked this once great franchise for all it’s worth. Dark Fate even disregarded 3-5 and picked up right after the 2nd one and now that that movie has been universally panned what do they do now? Reboot the franchise again? It’s really rather stunning how great the first two movies were and how the franchise has been royally fucked up by 4 sequels trying desperately to breath life back into it when it’s clearly run it’s course.

My awesome idea for a Terminator movie was kind of already stolen by Edge of Tomorrow. The whole thing is just about the the endless war in the future that loops back upon itself over and over and over again. Time is essentially broken and the only way to stop the cycle is to let the machines win, but humans simply won't give up. And so we're just locked and frozen in the 21st century before society falls. An eternal pre-9/11 society where we all feel ever more estranged and disconnected just like we're feeling today.

I like your idea, but you need a good ending. Maybe even a happy or hopeful ending.

Where would your plot end up going? You have a basic concept idea, but nothing leading to a resolution. Where/ how will it resolve?

lol don't know. i wrote and deleted ten things before giving up and posting this. I'm sure that's the same problem the actual writers face. It needs to be bleak, but not hopeless. The emphasis of my story would be the turning of the screw, to some end, that may never come. That's an easy out. That's not a movie. Movies have endings. You can be bleak and hopeless but you still have to deliver a message and mean something. There's a reason so many movies suck. It's hard! I'm like many of the youtube critics we have today. I can tell you exactly why a movie sucks. But I can't tell you how to fix it. Or even my own screenplay.

I hope not.
