Every line is delivered the same way...

I just noticed this show. I enjoy all the 80s nostalgia.

But its just so hard to watch.

Every character seems to deliver every line with the same energy.

When the older son speaks he is always excited and yelling.
The father is always whining
Mother always sounds the same.

The father, the mother, the younger son. It doesn't matter the scene, all their lines are delivered the same way and its annoying.

another thing I noticed when i watched last season was there was NEVER any break in dialogue. Like the scenes never have any room to breathe. Every line of dialogue is spit out quickly and begins immediately after the other ends so a character can constantly get in a quip or the narration can squeeze in an anecdote. Was it this way in the first few seasons? I don't recall.

Yeah that's kinda what I mean....the young kid rants and raves, then the older kid rants and raves, then the mom and then the dad.

Always whiny and excited

It wasn't like this in the first two seasons. The show became more like that in season 4/5. I think the editing choice can be really funny, but if it's constantly used, then that's where the problem is. Part of it might be the short run time of episodes.

Sean Giambrone's voice is annoying.
