So they completely disregarded the ending of the last movie? WTF?

Wesker gets Alice to Washington for assistance in a last stand and gives her her powers back. Movie ends on that bit of a cliffhanger.

This movie: Nevermind, Wesker is bad and Alice has no powers and we really aren't going to give a rational explanation why he brought her there and apparently faked returning her powers.

Talk about massive FAIL! It's like they couldn't come up with a decent story based off that ending so they just made the end of the last movie a complete waste of time. It's pretty much insulting to the viewer. Good god why couldn't they at least have come up with a decent explanation why things changed after that ending? Instead we got some vague, half ass mention or something about it and nothing more. It's absolutely ridiculous they did that and every fan of the series should be outraged.

I DEMAND they add additional footage to the blu ray to give an explanation as to why things changed from the ending of the last movie.

the moment i saw that the promised-to-be-epic battle for the white house would be shown i knew the movie was gonna be ass.

and lo and behold, it is.

reply

Did you really believe that Wesker left Umbrella huh? I suspected that Wesker was behind Red Queen and he lead some conspiracy. The Final Chapter confirmed this.

reply

You're being psychotic. At every turn you're there to defend the obvious flaws in the series and insist that there's a logical reason for them. The only bright side on the boards closing is that you'll disappear along with these awful excuses.

Good job ignoring everything I pointed out. You just tried to defend what they did while failing to address how it all made no sense. Bravo.

You still looking for answers?
Why You don't enjoi IT how IT is?

The extraordinary is in what we do,not who we are

reply

I think it had something to do with recasting issues so they just chopped the scene out. Ada and Jill were hated by Sony, and the 2 year delay probably gave Sony a good reason to not get them back. It would've been pointless to just have Leon and Alice.

Although if Milla didn't get pregnant, it was rumored Ada and Jill were supposed to return, probably since Sony said sure their on set and all.

reply

Ada and Jill hated by Sony? What?????

reply

I can't remember the details, but I strongly remember at the time that the studio didn't want Jill back in the last film (either recast or drop thencharacter)!and Milla was among those who campaigned to get the actress back... Is that right?

reply

Im glad that boards will be closed down. Seriously...

reply

Why? Cause punks can't defend flaws in movies?

reply

I totally agree, I know they said there was recasting issues but that doesn't mean you couldn't have shown a brief scene of Weskers betrayal all the same. Just show him communicating with The Hive/Umbrella Forces and calling in a missle strike of some kind on the White House.

He escapes, external shot shows a devastating missile strike crashing into the White House as the hordes are over running the baricades.

No need to show the actual actors for Leon, Chris, Jill, etc.

THEN Alice wakes up in the ruins.

Still a crappy plot twist, but job done. The way they did it was so unnecessarily lazy. That's my big problem with this movie - it's lazy in so many areas where small insignificant changes would have massively improved the screenplay.

I love your Jill ORC profile pic and I was gonna say:

The movie would be nice with just Alice, Leon and Claire, since Leon didn't stand out in Retribution and having both of them in Raccoon City could been a great opportunity to talk about the events in Raccoon City they faced, but again focus was on Alice.

I remember Shawn Roberts was the first actor to be in the Africa alongside Milla and her stund double.

If you guys remember one of the first pictures they leaked was Shawn Roberts having a blue sustain on his leg, so I suppose his fate was already set in the beggining since they started filming, but my only concern is he was practicing some stunt coreography with Milla's stunt double while Milla was taking pictures of them, so I guess the script had some fight of Alice vs Wesker but it was removed from script after the accident.

-"I'm good but not THAT good" Jill Valentine

reply

Actually, Shawn was the last actor to arrive in Africa. That shot he posted on twitter with his leg was done the same time Milla had her face cast. It was done stateside before filming officially began.

This is when Shawn arrived: https://twitter.com/shawnroberts4rl/status/663365517428850688 in early November.

And those photos of Milla and the stunt double weren't with Shawn.

Take moments of happiness where you can; the world will take the rest.

reply

Accident? Did Shawn have an injury? Is that why what seems to have been his final fight with Alice/Milla is strangely her versus Isaacs/Ian Glenn?!

reply

Its just so ridiculous that they filmed that ending then turn around and decide "oh well forget that because......well who cares really?" Just utterly insulting to fans and viewers.

reply

Don't search for reasoning... the director didn't care, he does not expect his target audience to care either. For some odd reasons there movies make money so they kept asking him to write new ones so he probably just said yes to get another huge paycheck. Didn't tough 2 secs about what happened in the past movies. Used the laziest way possible to do action scenes (shaky cam and tons of stunt doubles) and probably realized the shaky cam didn't hide enough so he added 10 jump cuts per punches...

When a director clearly don't even care of delivering a good product visually, you can expect the story is last on its mind lol.

Normally i would be soooo pissed on they turned Wesker into a whimp, but when you have a general look at the whole movie, you realize this big flaw is only like 5th or so on the list of atrocity in it lol

Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!

reply

What's even more insulting is that even though the entire film builds up to Alice supposedly making a sacrifice to save the world, she STILL doesn't die!

It ends like they even had another sequel planned.

I thought Rey was bad from Star Wars, but Alice really takes the cake as the worst character ever put to celluloid.

reply

Yeah, it doesn't make sense.

reply

I was really disappointed that the movie didn't start where the last one ended.
Probably too costly.
It would've been epic.

reply

Like the battle for washington that never filmed it

reply

I feel the way the movie was handled was thanks to corporate executives' decisions, I don't know how honest Milla is but i feel she just wanted a movie for herself, either her true colors or the producers behind the movies.

Ali Larter didn't get any decent scenes and all the promotion highlighted Ruby Rose, whose character didn't have any weight, we are supposed to feel sorry for her death because Alice cried but it was too forced.

reply

My thoughts exactly
