Harry Potter, without even knowing magic exists, picks up a wand for the first time and defeats Voldemort.

Luke Skywalker, who did not know that Jedi or the Force existed when he woke up that morning, uses the Force to blow up the Death Star before bed that evening.

You are referring to the fact that Obi Wan had to guide him from literally beyond the grave? Even though his piloting skills are referred to in the film several times and we even see his actual ship in the film too?

Or where he was toast unless Han saved him?

Or the part where he defeated Vader 1v1 in a lightsaber battle ... oh wait that didn't happen.

A better comparison would have been Anakin, who although could pod-race and was on autopilot, managed to accidentally blow up a trade federation facility in TPM. Although virtually all of TPM is heavily scrutinized already.

Luke Skywalker, during his very first flight in an x-wing fighter, used the Force to blow up the Death Star, showed up all the more experienced Rebel pilots, dogfought Darth Vader to a draw, won the day, and fulfilled the fantasy. He pulled it off even though being able to fly a fighter x-wing that expertly on his first go is about as probable as a hick from the sticks winning the Indy 500 the first time he gets in a genuine race car, instead of his hand-modified junker.

Which would be ridiculous in a world where there are no exceptions to the laws of physics, but we're talking Space Opera here!

But is it really the first time Luke has used the Force? In all the times he was bulls-eyeing womp rats back on the farm, did he ever concentrate so deeply it felt like he was in touch with something greater than himself, something he couldn't name? Was that why he was the best pilot in his particular back end of Tattooine beyond? It's possible, just as it's possible that Rey had managed to survive the lawless life of a scavenger by bringing a little something extra to all the fights she'd been in. Because FYI an attractive girl who lives in a lawless community is going to need to be able to fight off adult males starting at age twelve or so, if she wants to maintain her independence. How'd she do it... how ever did she do it...

Hey there's your fake version of ANH again Otto!

"Luke Skywalker owned a T-16 skyhopper on Tatooine prior to the Battle of Yavin, as well as a small model that could be held in one's hands. He would use the airspeeder's pneumatic cannon to kill womp rats. The controls were similar to Incom's T-65B X-wing starfighter, which greatly benefited Skywalker during the Battle of Yavin."

Luke is openly lauded during the film for his piloting skills and experience.
He was flying support and was not a squadron leader.
The RA needed all available pilots since they were minutes from being destroyed
He never dogfought Vader, he was actually 1 second from being killed and needed Han to save him
He LITERALLY needed help by Obi Wan from BEYOND THE GRAVE to make the shot

Oh no, you were proven wrong again, feel sorry for you :(.

If you think that being able to successfully fly a fighter spacecraft in combat with zero experience is so easy it's not worthy of discussion, I invite you to try it. Or go easy on yourself, try an airplane in combat, it's got to be easier!

If you think Rey winning a fight is somehow less probable, remember that Luke was up against Darth Vader, and she was up against a useless dipshit.

Do you even read what you write. Half of it is baseless assumption, the other half is blatant lies ...

Luke can fly, is toted as being a gifted pilot "Sir, Luke is the best bush pilot in the Outer Rim Territories."
The X-Wing is markedly similar to his personal ship, the T-16 Skyhopper.
Luke flies a supporting role and only succeeds due to the sacrifice or intervention of others - despite his skills

Of course you are trying to pretend none of this happens as you skim over the facts - since they completely disprove your argument. You act as if Luke flied up to the DS alone and single-handedly destroyed it. This did not happen in any version of ANH besides the one in your head.

rey on the other hand, lol. There is no heroes journey for a gary stu like rey.

Harry Potter never pointed a wand at Voldy until he'd had three years of magic school, including duelling training, and only survived because the two wands had the same core. Baby!Harry only survived because his mother's sacrifice gave him a "forcefield" against Voldemort.

Harry never had the upper hand against Voldemort in their various battles until the final one, and that wasn't really due to skill. It's pointed out numerous times over the series that Harry scrapes through due to luck and more skilled friends.

Frodo meets the Nine Nazguls after Bilbo leaves and kicks their ass. Then saves Gandalf from Saruman, saves Aragorn from a group of Uruk-Hai, beats down the Balrog, bangs Galadriel and melts The Ring with his lighter.

That's Rey in Middle Earth ^^
