Finn so irrelevant they got come up with this side mission...

Too funny

And this Asian side chick

reply

Had Finn seemed more relevant had he stayed with Poe and co?

reply

Nope. He'd just be standing around saying the useless filler lines as he was doing before.

reply

I don't think they have a clue what to do with him. He isn't a great character, he doesn't feel essential to the plot. His big moment came against another character, Phasma, that has been worthless as well and was saddled with another character of questionable value during a mission that should have been cut from the movie.

reply

Based on what Boyega says, they (or at least he) imagine an end game relationship between him and Rey, as absurd as that is.

reply

The novelization is trying to have a Rey and Kylo romance. That's worst. At least Finn isn't abusive.

reply

I think they cast Adam Driver simply because they needed someone that was even uglier than Boyega. Who knows where that will go. I doubt Kylo survives, but whatever they do, it's shoehorned in.

reply

It's so sad and it speaks volumes about the incompetent writing that among other things I predicted immediately after seeing the TFA dumpster fire that Finn would likely be given a meaningless busy work side plot so he would have something to do. His character arc in TFA left absolutely no reason for him to be at the center of events going forward.

reply

Apparently his entire purpose now is to serve as a love interest for either Rey or that Asian chick.
