So...again with 3 villains??

Wow, you would think they would learn their lesson after 5 movies; two of them failing miserably (arguable with ASM 2) and now that sue-happy Marvel has gotten their way and rebooted the character yet again, now they are having 3 villains in one movie which is one of the main reasons (and the main complaint among viewers) that ASM 2 and Spider-Man 3 failed. I know there were many other flaws beyond there being three villains that caused the movies to bomb in the eyes of the fans, but that was the one complaint we never heard the end of even years later from disappointed viewers. Now with Marvel controlling the helm without Sony on their back as much after the lawsuit, Marvel is doing the same damn thing Sony did that caused viewers to be pissed and give the main reason for the two biggest movies of the two last Spider-Man franchises to fail and require reboots. If this movie doesn't go well what with Marvel, Sony, and especially the fans blame it on for the most part? Too many villains? Most likely.

Now I enjoyed ASM 2 and Spider-Man 3 more than many others did, and I'm not saying three villains was the main issue with either of them. It's how they were handled in the story, and also the ridiculously bad cuts/edits to the final films, especially ASM 2. But I'm hoping this movie will learn from the past mistakes and deliver an epic movie without there being yet another disappointment and having "too many villains" again be the fans' main complaint.

I get the impression Vulture is the big bad and Tinkerer is the scientist supplying weapons to everyone. Shocker and the other dudes seem like they're there to introduce the idea that Tinkerer builds weapons for villains, which leads to Vulture. It seems like they run around in the same crew with more or less the same goals, so there shouldn't be a problem with overcrowding as the movie won't have to cram in a bunch of subplots.

BTW, my theory is that Spidey takes Shocker's weapons early in the movie, figures out the technology, and rewires it to mess with Vulture's flight harness. It would be similar to the first Vulture story in the comics where Peter figured out how the flight harness worked and built a device that negated it.

I won't mind that route if they invest all three equally. The problem with the original was no set up. Venom was misused, the goblin felt overused and the sandman was more sympathetic that I didnt buy him as a villian.

I don't think they will invest in all three equally. I get the impression Shocker will only be a villain in the first act. Tinkerer will be more of a behind-the-scenes guy. Vulture is the big bad.

Let's see... We have Vulture...Two Shockers, and the Tinkerer, who probably won't fight Spidey... I guess that is technically 3 villains, even though it is really four.

And, I bet Donald Glover is working for the bad guys too, but he'll probably end up being Hobbie Brown and reforming.

Whatever direction they're really going, I just hope they can pull it off. The movie looks like an absolute blast.
