That bar scene

Norman has been going to bars in Norma drag and having sex with dudes, Not just once but he's a regular?
Whoah.

That surprised me too.

At first, I assumed it was a straight bar, and was thinking no one could believe Norman in a wig is actually a woman. But once it was revealed to be a gay bar, that made more sense. There, guys would be likelier to just figure drag is Norman's "thing" and go along with it without thinking about it too much.

Well a hetero guy doesn't have to believe he was born a chick. Some have a fetish for the whole "ladyboy" thing.

On the flip side, for most gay guys its a turn off for a guy to be dressed as a woman. I mean sure drag is a part of the gay culture, but still most aren't sexually attracted to it.

Yes they all seemed to accept him in that setting and didn't make a big deal out of it, but it does make me wonder how long 'Norma' has been going there and has she killed any of them? Obviously the one guy he fucked last night is still alive,(he lucked out!) but it seems like it's been happening regularly and there might have been others, and Norman just never knew about it until the car was missing.
How did she get home without her car? What else did she do during that blackout? Does she take off the wig and stuff before going to sleep, so that when Normal wakes up he won't find it?

It is interesting that when he is in his Norma alter, he really believes he is her and really believes he is female, so why would he/she go to a gay bar? This isn't a typical trans person situation. Trans people might feel more comfortable at a gay bar but why would Norma choose it? When a woman wants to get laid by a man, the last place she would go is a gay bar.

I would guess 'Norma' has been going to that bar for a while. I'm going to guess she hasn't killed any though. Multiple reasons.

1: Since Norma has been going long enough to be known and a regular, there would be worry among the community, and noticed that people who leave with Norma disappear.

2: Not the MO. The show, reinforced by the movie, shows that Mother's victims tend to be people with a sexual interest in Norman: Bradley, Miss Watson, soon to be Marion, the mentioned other girls in the movie. And I know there were times I felt worried for Emma and Cody. The victims are not typically people Norma is interested in. sure, Norman gets jealous, and had his moment with the axe, but Mother is the killer, not Norman. Yeah, we could talk about Sam Bates, but that was arguably self-defense/preservation. Norma's not killing the gay guys, just having her fun with them.

3: Due to Norman's MO, I would say most of his victims are at the motel. I would guess there have probably been a few during the time jump, due to him being on his own all that time and descending further into madness, but I don't think we're supposed to think he's killed a Ted Bundy amount or anything. Each of his kills have presented specific opportunities for cover-up, and as we saw with Blackwell's car, sometimes sloppily, he's not a master. And he's in a fixed location, too many would go noticed, and not every woman checking in is going to fall over herself for him.

I would say Norman got a lift home from the guy, who then drove himself home.

Of course she took the wig off before going to sleep, how else would it happen? ;)

Norma chooses the gay bar because somewhere in the recesses of the shared Bates brain, she knows and is protecting.

This is a HUGE deviation from the original. Having several people see Norman dress and act like Norma could change the story in all sorts of ways.

I can see what you mean. But, that hardly matters as we're in the home stretch of the story. If we assume that Norman gets caught and put away after killing Marion, it makes sense that there might be multiple witnesses to his unraveling, who had no idea what they were seeing at the time.
