The thing I'm most excited about is seeing MOTHER as a main character. We have also seen small doses in the 4 years of the show and now we are going see MOTHER front row center. Judging from what I have heard from the first episode and the some other MOTHER will take anyone on even a man with a gun. Very Excited for the start of the season

shareIn the movie it's implied the mother was controlling in an evil way. What the show has done is make Norma a sympathetic character and her phantom, Mother, the evil vindictive persona that is actually a projection of how Norman saw his mother~

It makes sense now. She's not suppose to be exactly the same as the real Norma, but rather a exaggerated version of her.

Netflix finally got the last season, so I'm only seeing it now. Only up to episode 6 so far.
I'd expected them to write Mother as she'd been in the previous seasons, and to gradually develop her so she became more like Norma, but that isn't what happened. Right out of the gate, she's suddenly turned into Norma.
But at that point she's only in Norman's mind and completely took over that personality so to make her just the same I think would have been a mistake. Also keep in mind this is almost 2 years later. We didn't get to see it all evolve.
Don't get me wrong, I missed the real Norma like crazy but Norman was so far gone at that point, I think they made the right call.

That was my point, that in this last season they made her exactly like Norma, and I think it was a mistake. True, Mother did have two years to evolve. I wish they hadn't done that, and don't see the point of it, except to avoid evolving Mother into Norma.
I'm almost finished now and while I'm glad to have finally seen the last season and have been entertained, I'm disappointed in it. It feels rushed to me, not up to the standards of all the previous seasons.

Anyway how did you like the last season? I think they needed more time. Definitely more seasons or more episodes of the final season. Season 4 was by far my favorite.
