Favorite Season So Far?

Mine would be 1, 4, 3, and then 2

I loved them all. Maybe season 2 slightly less than the rest.

But usually shows like this have a great first season then the quality slowly just dies, but it keeps getting stronger and stronger and that's why I love it so much.

The show has gradually improved. The fourth season is definitely my favourite, by quite a margin too.

The rest are all tied for a distant second, with 3 edging slightly to the front. To be honest, after the first season, I didn't bother to watch anymore until just recently. Something about the first season's cutesy revisionist tone struck me as off. It wasn't its own thing, and it wasn't true to the spirit of the source material; it just occupied that awkward space between "slavish recreation" and "padding out the story with uninteresting filler characters and silly subplot tangents".

Next to, say, NBC's Hannibal, the whole enterprise just felt very...safe? It was placating the contemporary audience by including trappings like texting, and newly-remade ladies man Norman hooking up with hotties -- which should jar anyone familiar with the original -- but went to the trouble of recreating the original house and motel to exact specifications.

I don't think it's any coincidence that the show's improvement has coincided with a return to the roots of the original premise. Hopefully, now that we're effectively back "where we came in", the show will have the courage to go it's own way completely, and throw a few surprises our way, or (and this might be even harder) recreate the events of the original movie in a way that throws new dramatic light on them. The stunt-casting of Rihanna as Marion Crane suggests the latter, and I hope the creators are up to the task.

Enjoyed 1 and 2. 3 is boring so far.

3 sucked.1, 2 and 4 were good.

I liked all of them, but hands down season 4

Season 4.

Have to agree, S4 if I had to choose, but, adored them all, well, sad for S5 without
Norma alive.
1, 2, 4, 5. Hated 3. Kinda boring after S2. Liked it cause of the drug war. I can see why people didn't like S2 because it didn't have as much to do as Norman/Mother as killer except Miss Watson.
