Starting to Lose Interest At Episode 4

I was glad to see the writers start elaborating on the characters but they all seem too self-obsessed. There also doesn’t seem to be a grounded character anywhere. Everyone has become a weirdo. And the writing is becoming contrived. Lily the wife character goes on a long train ride for a job interview that’s supposed to be an exiting opportunity for her and she suddenly blurts out to the interviewer that she is only there to leverage for better terms at her current job? And then the interviewer tells her they have no intention of hiring her anyway because the job is earmarked for a diversity hire? No one behaves like this in the real professional world. And it was so inconsistent with the lead up. Lily previously wanted that job because she had become bored and unappreciated and wanted to get back to an exciting professional life in the big city with a prestigious school. And the school was earlier so eager to hire her that the interviewer was already telling her she had the job and the interview was a mere formality.

This show is the end of “Golden-boy” Odenkirk’s reign. He had a good run.

I just gave up at the start of ep 6. It’s all just too uncomfortable, no one is sympathetic, and it’s not going to get better for anyone. It’s a show about a suicidal malcontent FOR suicidal malcontents. Who needs that?

Bob Odenkirk is a charismatic guy, he would make the coolest friend ever! He doesn't choose good projects though, if you look at his acting history he chooses bad vehicles for his talents pretty consistently.

It's indeed not funny enough to warrant further viewing. Deleted.

I've only watched the pilot, & found it very meh. Seems very un-focused & doesn't know what kind of show it wants to be. 'Woke' satire? Mid-Life crisis black comedy? It goes all over the place.

Re: job interview:

Sounds like the writers changed their mind. Ugh. That doesn't always work, and viewers are not that stupid.
