I used to think this was one of Tarantino's worst. Just watched it a week ago, with a fresh new perspective, and all I can say is...wow. Great movie! The cast was great. DiCaprio's performance was unforgettable. Great soundtrack. I can't believe how I overlooked this film and judged it so harshly.
shareA lot of movies work that way..we see the story a first time and we are "taking it in" and deciding if it does or does not match "what we were expecting."
It is only with re-viewings that we truly enter the world of the film, and understand what the writer and director(in QT's case, both) was trying to say.
At least that's how it works for me.
I've judged a lot of films harshly, only to end up loving them after another viewing.

I had the privilege of seeing it in theatres and the unfortunate circumstance of not remembering. I dont know how I have a great memory and wasn't drunk. I just wish I could remember the audiences reaction. its the first movie I ask people if they have seen then proceed to force them to watch lol
