Bunch of incel losers who see politics in everything.

These clowns would have been crying had GTA: San Andreas came out today. Oh no Rockstar have gone woke and we have to play as african americans. 😭

These boys cry about everything that isn't catered to white heterosexual men. Anyone who isn't white, male or heterosexual is 'pandering' and 'politically motivated'. What is it with conservative white men that makes them think the entire universe revolves around them? Some serious main character syndrome going on.

White people make up 58% of the US population. Approximately half that is male, say 29%, then shave a percent or two off for the non-heterosexuals and you get what? 27% of the population, some of which lose their minds because the other 73% get featured in movies, television shows or video games?

Oh no there is a girl in it and we have to play as her? Girls are stinky and playing as a girl makes me feel gay. 😢

Imagine kissing one or even just holding their soft little delicate hands. 🤢

Are you calling them The Little Boys Who Cried Woke? Remove the racial part of your comment and I'll mostly agree with you. If you think white males are the only people fed up with didactic lecturing masquerading as entertainment, to quote the woke Heavy Metal band Judas Priest, "You got another thing coming!"

Were this the only instance where a female took over the lead role in a franchise, nobody would say anything. For a decade now, however, Hollywood has been producing recycled material and selling it under the guise of "progressivism" (s.p.) by recasting the leads with people who have different immutable characteristics from the original characters (four WOMEN Ghostbusters, wow! So radical and "new"!...). I imagine the majority of women and non-white males find the pandering annoying as well. Let's have movies with women leads. Let's have movies with black, brown, yellow, all of the above leads. But could the entertainment industry be so polite as to give those previously "under-represented" communities ORIGINAL material? That's all anybody is asking for.

I agree with them that race swapping white people is weird, a recent example being Isaac Newton in Doctor Who. Real historical figures like that who were white and suddenly get played by people of african or asian descent is plain weird.

There may be some egregious examples of 'race swapping' or 'gender swapping' but these things happen when people try to correct previous faults.

There are people upset that The Marvels has three women as the lead characters. The thing for them to do is just not watch it, instead they bitch and moan online and pray for it's downfall. They see this all as some culture war between heterosexual white men and everyone else. Any time anything is made for any other demographic they take it personally, they truly seem to think everything should be made just for them.

The problem is these guys are too far gone and now they lose their shit whenever a woman, non-heterosexual or non-white person is featured in anything. They're outrage merchants and are constantly looking for things to get offended by.

GTA is not an example of something that should be exclusive to white men. San Andreas was largely african american and GTA V had three playable characters, one being black. Having one of the two playable characters in GTA VI being a woman is hardly something to be in uproar about but these idiots are now screaming bloody murder.

They're unhinged. They lack all nuance. They're blatantly misogynistic, racist and homophobic and they don't even try hide it any more.

Where are you getting this? I have seen only positive feedback on the trailer. I genuinely think people just want a quality product and the signs are good if the trailer's anything to go by (fingers crossed).

Nah, you have to consider that GTA is a strictly masculine franchise.

What percentage of women are career violent criminals? You'll have to dig deep and find some esoteric examples.

The only thing the trailer got right is that minority women are very likely to end up in prison, especially coming from single-parent (mostly single mother) households. They also got right that women within that age demographic are very likely to try to become famous via social media "influencer" content.

What they fundamentally got wrong is that a woman would be spearheading a crime spree to get rich or die trying, since it's not something grounded in a reality that can be satirised since it doesn't happen in real life. GTA: Vice City and San Andreas were lampooning the crime-dramas of the 80s and 90s featuring Hispanic/black men trying to get rich or die trying -- something that was at least grounded in a reality that was rife with real life crimes similar to those depicting in the games that occurred primarily in America throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, which actually led to congressional hearings about Hollywood glorifying that real life violence by producing "ultra violent" films. This is why throughout the 1990s Hollywood did a stark 180 and start toning down the violence greatly with only a few notable ultra-violent films throughout the mid to late 1990s.

In short, GTA VI with it's female protagonist isn't grounded in satirising some real-life element of American culture. It is instead feeding into the girl-boss trope perpetuated by every single major media outlet.
