Colonization absolutely devastated Africa

That would have been relevant if African cultures had in anyway been progressing prior to the European expansion. However they were always stuck in the Stone age and they were being taken over by just about any other culture they came in contact with. Even at the time when the technological gap was minimal: from Egypt to Phoenicians to Romans to Vandals.

I'm not an anthropologist and I don't know why some cultures develop and some fail but Africa is a continent of failed cultures. Rather than looking for someone to blame we need to focus on how to make sure the future generations will have better lives, more opportunities, more freedom.
