The next order of business

Should be firing Sharon, replacing Julie with a mod who isn't monotone and expanding their topics. Nothing political but they have occasionally touched on serious topics and I'd like to see more of that and not just the fluff.

reply

Yeah, there can only be so many conversations on what the Kardashians are wearing or what the cast of NCIS (insert the city) is doing these days...

Any ideas who can replace Julie Chen Moonves?

I would add Carnie Wilson and bump out Sharon...as for Julie's replacement, hmmmm?

reply

"Yeah, there can only be so many conversations on what the Kardashians are wearing or what the cast of NCIS (insert the city) is doing these days..."

They do talk about more things than the Kardashians, ya know. Like what The Real Housewives are up to. ;)

Julie's replacement..... I don't know. I was so used to the idea of her being here as long as the show stayed on the air I never thought of a replacement.

Carnie's a good choice. I also like Carrie Ann Inaba.

reply

I have a feeling that they'll probably replace Julie or fill her in with Carnie and they'll limp themselves out for the rest of the season (even though it just started actually) and I have a feeling that this will be the finale season of The Talk...

Everyone used to joke about the hosts of the view and their musical seats...whose laughing now?

reply

I hope that doesn't happen. This is the first step in changing things for the better IMO. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out I guess.

reply

Don't forget that Sumner Redstone's daughter is back in the driver's seat and holds control and with all of that bad blood (oh great I'm going to be singing that song to myself all day - lol) I suspect that it will be a merciful kill in the end...lol

I would think that ratings do matter though, so if by some chance The Talk turns into a ratings bonanza they will keep it going, if not it's Goodbye Charlie....er, no pun intended (you know, their kid's name)....

reply

Poor Charlie. :(

reply

I'm sure they'll shield him from it all...

reply

True but you can only do so much. School is going to be hell when he goes back.

reply

I'm sure Charlie is in some sort of private school...if not, he will be...

reply

Kids in private school get bullied too. I went through it myself but fortunately I didn't have a Les for a father who ruined everything with his inability to keep his pecker in his pants and his hands to himself.

reply

LOL

Sorry I'm not laughing at your situation it's more so your comment on his pecker...haha

Yes, I suppose a there are bullies everywhere...

I wonder what Mama Chen has to say about her son-in-law?

reply

No Carnie please. She's a Debbie Downer and makes everything about herself. And a huge NO to the unstable former member of 'The Coven'. Not only is she an argumentative loudmouth she's an awful moderator too. The show couldn’t be that desperate to bring that loon on.

I like Carrie Ann better as a fill in. Her laugh grates my nerves.

Garcelle is my pick. She's classy and funny and well spoken.

reply

And Jodie Sweetin for Sharon's seat.

reply

We're on the same page about Garcelle. TPTB need to reach her ASAP.

Jodie Sweetin is good. I highly recommend her book "UnSweetined" if you haven't already read it. She's so honest about her struggles with addiction.

reply

Didn't know she had a book out. I'll look for it at the library. Thanks.

reply

Came across an interview with Sara where she said the show's not in a rush to replace Julie. Never thought I'd say this but I actually like Sara as the moderator. She does a decent enough job and it's good to have anyone other than Sharon filling that role on a consistent basis. I wouldn't mind it if they kept it the way it is and had Jodie Sweetin and Carrie Ann Inaba take turns filling in for the others. It's a lot less sloppy than similar attempts made elsewhere, that's for sure.

reply

Now that Sara is leaving they should hire Jodie Sweetin. She can take off on the days they talk about Lori Loughlin if it makes her uncomfortable. Hire her.

On second thought, they should get Camila Alves instead. She’s good and most importantly, likable. The less miserable people on TV the better.

reply

“On second thought, they should get Camila Alves instead.”

She’s Matthew McConaughey’s wife, right? When did she guest host?

reply

That’s her. She was on last fall and showed she’s more than a pretty face. She’s also a big advocate for healthy eating. Particularly for kids. She spoke about it when she was on.

reply

Oh. Thanks. :) That’s cool.

Someone who guest hosted that I was initially psyched about only to be disappointed was Vanessa Williams. I thought she’d be good but she was a bit stiff and out of it. Maybe it was an off day?

Now that Fuller House is over I’d like to see Jodie Sweetin guest host again.

reply

More like an off week. That’s how long she was there.
Gorgeous lady but not very interesting to me.

I doubt Jodie’s coming back anytime soon.
Not with the Lori Laughlin scandal still going on.

reply

Vanessa’s back on Thursday and Friday. Hopefully she’ll do a better job. I’m not looking forward to Paris Hilton tomorrow. I don’t care for that fake baby voice she puts on.

reply

Paris Hilton is and always has been a bore. She barely said a word and just sat there posing like a Barbie doll.

Marie was so full of it calling her a “self-made woman”. No one would know who she is if it hadn’t been for her grandfather.

“Marie was so full of it calling her a “self-made woman.” No one would know who she is if it hadn’t been for her grandfather.”

That’s true. And like Kim K, she did a sex tape and that helped
get her name out there too. I thought the dig at them from Marie was uncharacteristic of how she usually is. She’s better than that, but the Kardashians are an easy target to go after.

Vanessa Williams didn’t do much better than the last time she was on, but she was more interesting than Paris.

reply

I didn’t care for the dig either. That’s in Sharon’s wheelhouse (she basically called them prostitutes in an interview while her own husband was diddling anything with lady parts all over town).

A cardboard cutout would be more interesting than Paris. I hope they don’t ask her back.

reply

I agree with Garcelle or Jodi, both are good choices. If they get rid of Sharon, then hire both!

reply

From your mouth to God's ear about Sharon getting canned. Doubt it'll happen though.

reply

Another name that slipped my mind was the actress Roslyn Sanchez. She hasn’t guest hosted in quite some time but I enjoyed her.

reply

[deleted]

I just got around to watching yesterday’s show and would add Brooke Shields to the list. So many good candidates.

reply

The next order of business is... cancellation! Ship’s going down, folks! Nobody said so... and it’s like *totes*... true!

Took over a decade but the witch is finally getting the axe so who should get her seat after it's been fumigated? Asking for the three viewers left...

reply

Lol. I think Brigitte Neilsen would be a great choice. I also like Rumer Willis or Jodie Sweetin but they probably want an older woman to fill Sharon's spot.

reply

Thank god you didn't say Carnie. ;)

These idiots falling for Sharon's tears and lies: https://www.the-sun.com/entertainment/2692690/the-talk-viewers-slam-sheryl-underwood-shut-down-sharon-osbourne/. Where's the eye rolling emoticon when you need it?

Note to PansyMan, STFU. Your leader was dismissed long ago and no one cares what have to say, moron. The only thing desperate and dreadful is watching your silly, simple sass try to put two sentences together, you idiot.

reply

No Carnie but now they have two male co-hosts. Jerry O'Connell is really attractive but very hyper and attention-seeking. I wasn't watching much when Akbar served as guest host so maybe he'll turn out to be a good pick but I wish they'd hired female replacements. Oh well, we'll see if this sticks.

reply

Sheryl's Sheryl, Akbar's ok, Jerry's annoying as hell and Amanda's still nice but boring. Despite that the ratings have gone up a bit since the season premiere (and The Coven's have gone down): https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2021/10/daytime-broadcast-ratings-for-the-week-of-september-27-october-1-2021.

Hiring Natalie Morales is the smartest choice this show's made since exorcising that vile wench last spring. Unlike the latter Natalie's likeable and professional.

Barely watched it this season and surprised it didn't get canceled during the writer's strike last summer. Hopefully a rainstorm sticks a fork in The Coven & Jes'an'Idiot next.

reply

The show was nominated for two Emmy's including Best Talk Show Hosts. I don't know how they managed that, but good for them, I guess.

reply

Sharon did nothing wrong. End of story.
