So if you are the producers of Bond, would you be worried your star is playing second fiddle to the box office poison that is Ryan Gosling? He was great as Ken, a plastic doll, but carry a lead role? No. He ruined Blade Runner for me.
Now the villain, Aaron Taylor, is also not someone I would ever cheer for. He is simply not James Bond.
Beta-males are popular these days, like Ken, like Colt in this movie.
Remember Ted Lasso, all those crying beta-males are role models for the younger generation.

For the Bond films the cool gadgets, international vistas and locales, cool stunt effects, and enamoring love interests are just as important to these series of films. They're not meant to be high art but great crowd pleasing showcases.

But he’s doing a great Matthew McConaughey. Don’t you think. One of the best parts of this movie. I loved Blade Runner 2049. Gosling never ruins a movie for me starting with The Believer.
Nobody is playing Bond at this point. Barbara Broccoli says they aren’t anywhere near starting the new franchise.
