A movie about erectile dysfunction.

The title says so, now I don't need to see it.

It's a movie about parents who want their son to have a functioning erection! I love the title and it's double-meaning.

I was just on the Cast Away board the other day commenting on that movie title double-meaning. Most people call it "Castaway", because he's a castaway on a remote desert island. But then [spoiler alert] he gets "Cast Away" by his fiancé at the end of the movie.

Not a bad theory.

I saw a youtube take where his fiance was already otherwise involved even before he went missing. Kind of brutal, and does add to the double meeting. But never fear, there is a happy ending.

There is a lot of discussion on the Cast Away board about her having an affair, and viewers trying to guess the age of her daughter. I see no evidence of that; sounds like pure, but possible, speculation.

Maybe there's a happy ending. Or maybe the woman says I hated you in Forrest Gump, GO AWAY!.

Its based upon the fact that she was likely married after he'd been gone only a few years, and that the husband was Hanks' dentist, who had presumably met her after his root canal, well before his going missing. Its fiction, so everything about it is more or less speculation, but that is a very plausible implication.

It makes the plot more interesting, as well.

Lol just a few years? He’d definitely be presumed dead at that point. And it’s very possible that she also went to the dentist

reply

Yes, a few years - married 2 years after he went missing, dating 0-2 years prior.

Its just an interesting wrinkle - you don't have to buy it. But its not far-fetched or even much of a stretch.

Doubly cast away. I like the ambiguity of it.

It's been a while since I've seen it. I don't recall any hints of her being a ho before he went missing.
