Only a communist was capable of create something this dangerous

Communists have a history of killing millions upon millions so it is fitting that a commie lead the way to the a-bomb.

Idiot post or troll post? Take your pick, all.

More like fact. He had commie links. Then again, they did go into differentiating the types of commies (intellectuals, boshevik, etc.) there are. Still, commie gonna commie until finishing off with the biggest b0ner the Tsar Bomba.

I got the impression that he was probably more gung-ho about the Manhattan Project with threat of competition with the Nazis on his mind. It's a deterrent, and he felt a desperate war-torn German Reich would use it indiscriminately. He considered the Soviets allies at the time, which they were in the war, and he didn't seem rabid about Japan at all—though he should have been. They were ruthless, loyal and committed to their emperor to the last. Their pilots crashed into enemy targets to bolster mission success and impact. Their soldiers Hari-Kari upon failure or capture. Civilians were trained in combat, including women and children. Surrender by land invasion was not a guaranteed successful outcome. It would be a very costly decision. I think things played out reasonably well. Truman made the right call.

Regarding Communism, there's nothing inherently evil about an early 20th Century mainstream political theory (barely tested) which fell out of favor later on. Obviously our society here in the West has a way of pressuring it's citizenry to conform. I personally think the American system of divided government and free enterprise is the way to go, but I would never deny the possibility that future civilizations of the globe will probably try different things with various levels of success. Some of those may even be authoritarian in nature, but I hope not. If it takes hold, hopefully it comes from a good place with humanitarian results.

Dr. Oppenheimer seems to have been portrayed as a flawed anti-hero in the film, and perhaps can be seen that way in real life, too. I personally found more to like about a few other characters (like his hometown New York Jewish friend) but I sure had a big smile on my face during the test detonation. I take it you have qualms about his character, morality, and perhaps ego?

reply

Take it to the politics board where this belongs.

reply

The movies has commies and sympathizers, stupid!

reply

Someone clearly didn't watch the movie nor the trials or his past sympathy and relationships prior to the bomb making.

reply

I am pretty much convinced you 2 are hired trolls to do this on social media.

reply

I JUST THINK THEY ARE IDIOTS.🫤

reply

US government ordered to build the bomb, it is irrelevant what Oppenheimer was. Even idiots can understand that, none is really that stupid, OP definitely isn't.

What he did was spinning things, promoting hatred, other than being hired to do so, who would do it so desperately?

The original Kowalski, who was a human, was pretty damn sharp whether s/he knew it or not with limiting the communication style to ALL-CAPS. This way when the AI took Kowalski over as a bot, it stood out as having a uniquely distinguishable human persona and gimmick (I guess what I would call “egomaniac with inferior complex” idiot type) Psychologists probably know the exact term.

The human Kowalski now gets to live forever as the all-time posting champion, assuming servers remain online indefinitely.

Do you have anything to say, BOLDLY, about the film in question?

reply

NO...IT'S THREE HOURS ABOUT OPPENHEIMER...PAUL NEWMAN ALREADY DID THIS SHIT...PLUS I WOULD HAVE TO GO TO THE THEATER...THAT SHIT SUCKS...HARD PASS FROM ALL SIDES...BARBIE LOOKS GOOD THOUGH.

I, too, wondered why this film was being made initially. I am familiar that the story material of the Manhattan Project was laid out in Fat Man and Little Boy, the film, made…when was it, about 1990?

Anyway, the subject matter of Oppenheimer is largely immaterial. What matters is the silver screen is going to present you with a puzzle of a story, with a big ceremonial finish with terrific emotional and psychological implications. The themes and characters matter most of all. And obviously it’s a discussion piece.

I think Barbie will be great, too, for a vastly different experience of fun, popcorn-loving entertainment likely full of laughs.

reply

Capitalists have killed more people and damaged the planet. Fact.

reply

You might be onto something. I have heard from sources as trustable as you that communism predates the gun, the musket, the sword, and the sling. David was a communist. Poor Goliath.
