After 5 years of hesitation... VERY IMPRESSED

Talk about a great, tight script, well choreographed action, a very self-aware genre movie that is not only a roller-coaster ride from start to end, but actually well-directed unconventional action-scenes (excellent editing and visual compostion!) ... as far as recent action thrillers go, this is right up there with "Drive". And here I was thinking this will be a lesser "John Wick" (wich I like, too)...

I really admire Sodeberg's versatility, and making a "non-actress" look so natural and believable.

I didn't hesitate so much as forget it existed, until it popped up on TV last night. It surpassed my (admittedly low) expectations. I felt like I was watching a female James Bond and I loved it.

reply

Good movie. Yep.

I don't know how I missed this one. Never heard of it and came across it by accident. Deserves a wider audience, and good to see a female protagonist who looks like she can genuinely hurt people. Gina kicks arse.

I saw it way back when, not in the movie theaters unfortunately, but through Netflix when they still mailed you DVDs. I remember it being great back then, but somehow never saw it again until tonight, and it really holds up. An amazing hidden gem.

Netflix stopped mailing dvds?

reply

Maybe? I have no idea but I bet hardly anyone does that anymore if they still offer it. I remember when mailing DVDs was the only thing Netflix was really known for.

reply

yes it is well done. love soderberg's style. good script too. i have it.

IMO 5.8 is way too low. people are ridiculous lol
