Missed opportunity

Considering they had 40 years to come up with the story you’d think they could have done more. It was just a standard slasher film with dumb teenagers and a killer who can be shot, stabbed, and hit by a car but doesn’t get hurt. Having a 60 something Michael could have actually been interesting.
They should have shown more of Michael’s 40 year incarceration. Maybe more about him and the doctor’s relationship. Some kind of character development rather than just one note Michael who kills for no reason and can only be hurt when it is essential to the plot.

People slag off the Rob Zombie version, but it at least showed origins of Michael and showed his relationship with his family. Or it did for the first 40 minutes, before just replicating scenes from the first one.
