So basically it's Laurie stalking Michael Myers

If Laurie ain't his sister. Myers returned to Haddonfield just for the sake of it. Like in the original, no target in mind.

reply

Yes, that's sorta what it looks like. Laurie will now play the Loomis character and be after Michael for revenge.

I would have wrote something completely different. Instead of having, Myers escape (Seen this so many times), I would have wrote Myers release back into society, and I studied cases where dangerous psychopaths were release from mental institution.

Myers is an older man, but the town are being frighten that Michael now lives among the community and living at Myers house. Halloween day is coming up; this is where Michael regress back into murders.

Laurie Strode would be a passive character warning others about the history of Myers.

I can't tell how I feel about that! On the one hand, it is definitely interesting and innovative. But, I don't think it would fit the "evil" mold that Carpenter was trying to convey. Evil cannot be rehabilitated.

Please don't be offended by this, but I feel like that would have fit RZ's version of the series pretty well. He tried to explore the psychology of Myers more, so I think that could have made for a very interesting take in that world more than the Carpenter world of Halloween.

Evil cannot be rehabilitated.

The last case I read, this murderer was supposed to be rehabilitated by the medical experts in psychiatry. His first day out, he murdered someone. It cause an outraged among the community...

I hate the Rob Zombies films lol I turned it off immediately while viewing it a long time ago...I prefer Carpenter point of view.

I am glad we can discuss it in a friendly matter. Thanks

Scary stuff, but again, even if you don't like RZ (and I get that, he is not for everyone and he missed the point on Halloween completely), he did attempt to explore psychology in his two Halloween films, which is why I made the connection.

I would be outraged in the community if that happened to mine! But still, I'm sure that guy who was released was probably pretty damn persuasive to the docs before release!

reply

He wasn’t the only psychotic killer to be release back in society..

Did you remember Psycho II ? I know it’s a fictional movie, but Norman was release

reply

Never saw it, actually. But also do remember that Michael is non-communicative. "He hasn't spoken a word in 15 years..." I'm not so sure they could have rehabilitated him!

reply

Just cause she’s not his sister doesn’t mean he didn’t try to kill her in the first one.

reply

Then he has no reasons to hunt her down... Unless she is out for the hunt in the new movie...

reply

He wants to finish what he started.

reply

What was that? Trying to kill Laurie?

reply

Yeah.

reply

That doesn't make sense now cos he is not out to kill another sister in the new movie

reply

He tried to kill her but she got the better of him. Now he's out and out to do what he failed to do in the first movie.

reply

He has AT LEAST two motives to go after her even without her being his sister.

Motive 1) She showed up at the Myers' house to drop off the key. After that, that's when he started following her around and stuff and picked her as his next target to stalk and kill. He even followed Tommy Doyle around because he showed up with Laurie. Michael shows up at Tommy's school and then followed him on foot and also in the stole car for a little bit. He focused more on Laurie though to kill because of the second motive.

Motive 2) Laurie and her friends (Annie and Lynda) were talking crap to him as he drove by while he was following Laurie home from school. So he wanted to make Laurie and her friends pay for what they said, although Laurie didn't say much.

There is also an extended clip of the reporters in Halloween 2018 in one of the trailers where the male reporter (Aaron, I believe is his name) says to Michael while interviewing him (scene where he shows the mask), "do you remember Laurie Strode?" That most likely triggers Michael to remember the events of the first movie and then he remembers Laurie was the one that got away and decides to finish what he started. So Michael has AT LEAST two motives to go after her.

reply

Actually it sounds to me like Laurie goes after him this time, and he simply starts killing at random until she seeks him out... but we'll see in under a month!

You know about spoilers in your title right? ...

reply

I haven't seen the movie yet lol

reply

Me neither. Not really into the Halloween franchise, it just jumped out at me as giving the plot away to people like myself who like to watch things with no idea what's about to happen ....
Hope You still enjoy it!

reply

I'm not too sure.I'm old school. Halloween I & II are the ones that I preferred.
