I can't believe they offed Captain Howard! I loved him as the stressed out cursing captain always clashing with Mike and Marcus. Plus I love Joey Pants as an actor. I was hoping maybe he would survive but it was not to be. Plus it stung a bit more as the kill came after he gave some sage advice to Mike. Tragic...

And when the stinger clip came on and Mike offers his murderous son a deal for time off and to work with the police I was baffled. Wouldn't think the guys would allow him any mercy after he went on a killing rampage and especially because he sniped their beloved captain. But I guess this could set up a future story and have Will be there for his son and lead him to a new enlightened path. But still...

I like Pantoliano but his character was always annoying. Just the stock 'angry chief' guy.

I guess i just liked him because he's been in the game forever and we have been watching him since Risky Business, The Goonies, and La Bamba.

Plus he did have a heartfelt moment with Mike on those bleachers at the kids basketball game right before he got capped.

Did they? Had a feeling they would. He wasn't featured much in the promotional material.

You never really saw him in the marketing for Bad Boys 2 either, but he was still in the movie quite a bit. The only footage they used of him in the marketing for Bad Boys 2 was the scene where Will and Martin are in his office and right after that highway/bridge chase with the boat being blown up. Everything else was kept for the actual movie.

His death was kind of known to happen. Darn set photos were released of his death. Everyone just thought there was more to it though since set photos being released wouldn't give something major like that away, especially since he's like the third main good character. Everyone was just thinking he got shot, but was able to get medical attention in time and would live. Kind of dumb some set photos revealed his death. Sucks that he dies. I haven't seen the movie yet, but spoilers don't bother me. But I like Howard. He's pretty funny in some of his scenes.

I thought he was the funniest character in these movies. I was all like "Daaaaamn they killed dude. Ain't no coming back for em."

Someone who reads this just might catch the reference. If ya do, then belie' dat!

If you went back and read it and then caught the reference then, solved the case first day on the job..we bad detectives!
