Its crazy WBros are not doing legacy sequel movies

We kind of know why (cast spoke out against JK, so JK obviously ditched plans for legacy sequels and convinced the studio to do this reboot stream series instead, probably said Potter has to be based around them as kids, not adult versions )

But you'd think the studio would've doubled down and gone no it has to be legacy sequels with the original cast

A Harry Potter '9' (either based on Cursed Child or not) starring the original actors in their 30s with whoever left alive out of the adults (or AI/CG if necessary) would easily clear 2b worldwide maybe 3b , just think of all the millions of fans who were kids growing up on Potter novels/films in 00s who now have kids of their own showing them the movies on stream or 4k blu. it'd be The Force Awakens but bigger. and then potential further sequels could continue with Potters kids indefinitely (the OG actors all making at least 20m each per film)

I guess they could still do that after this new reboot but doesn't seem very likely atm

The studio can't double down. Rowling is in charge. It's her way or the highway and there is nothing the studio can do.

Its their money who fund the franchise (but I guess she had it in her contract whatever she wants in terms of how her books are portrayed she gets)

Oh well. Daniel,Rupert and Emma have all moved on. They felt the need to bash their friend over some comments that were not as bad as many made it out to be. There is no way Jk will ever let them play their characters again. I won't be alive to see the new cast get to Cursed Child or too old to care. But that's ok.... 😂

Its just seeks such a bizarre situation,

Like if George Lucas had voiced his issues on some controversial subject and the SW cast publicly spoke out in opposition and then instead of Lucas doing the SW sequels (ok I know he did the prequels but let's imagine he did the sequel trilogy in 90s/00s instead) and decided to remake SW with younger actors as Luke, Han, Leia instead

I don't remember anything with Rupert regarding this controversy.

He did say something. He said He didn't agree with her. But she's his Auntie....so he kinda said it's ok for her to have an opinion.... 😂
