If you make dark metal music...

The you must be a murderer. πŸ™„

That broke my heart. The guy seemed really creepy in his performance persona, but otherwise actually seemed like a gentle person. I'm always amazed at how vicious people can be online. I hope someone (or lots of someones) did reach out to him with sincere apologies after this aired. Or even some sympathy and support.

Well, that's true. He did reap what he sowed. I still have room in my heart for mercy.

Still stupid to accuse someone of murder just because they look a certain way and/or make a certain kind of music. He had no connection to the victim, they only accused him of murdering her because of his persona which is incredibly stupid.

Do you think it's possible that he realizes that now, having experienced being on the receiving end of what he'd been putting out?

Yes, never thought I’d have a soft spot for a death metal musician but he was an artsy, thoughtful, introspective guy. Hope he finds a way to get back into his music.

That was a ridiculous theory

Metal is a stale and simplistic genre anyway. It was replaced long ago in mainstream music and has not evolved since.

reply

Lol metal is one of the most diverse and most constantly evolving music genres. It’s certainly a lot less stale and simplistic than the shitty pop music you listen to.

reply

It truly isn’t. What is diverse? death metal? same old stuff since the 90s. Black metal? Again same old stuff since Emperor peaked the genre. Symphonic metal? same operatic nonsense.

Really the thing is stale

Technical death metal bands like Gorguts, Ulcerate, Ad Nauseam and Imperial Triumphant sound nothing like the stuff from the 90s. Deathspell Omega is a good example of a black metal band that sounds nothing like the stuff from the 90s. Djent is a pretty recent subgenre that sounds quite fresh. Atmospheric sludge metal or post-metal is a pretty fresh subgenre too. The avant-garde metal subgenre still brings out bands that sound completely unique. I could go on.

reply

post-metal is very much metal without balls. anemic just like blackgaze. Ulcerate just like Nile is boring and drags.

reply

Blackgaze, that’s another recent subgenre that sounds pretty different from regular black metal like it or not. Liturgy, that’s another pretty unique sounding black metal band... and the leader is a trans woman, you should like them. Derp.

reply

Only metal bands worth listening to these days are the screamo bands. The rest are just typical formulaic stuff
