Also whilst it avoided a lot of cliches of a romantic drama it ultimately didn’t feel very believable due to some of the cheesy dialogue and how contrived it was at times.
‘Oh let’s not talk anymore even though we clearly have a romantic connection. I know let’s meet up 12 years later, surely we won’t still have feelings for each other derp derp.’
I don't think the idea of two people who can't meet in person breaking off communication is that crazy. And he traveled to see her specifically because he did still have feelings for her.
shareHe had feelings for her. She had moved on and in many ways settled in life since she's less ambitious and marries a guy for convenience. She's a different person now than the one he had known.
A lot of the movie is about watching the body language of the three main characters especially in the second half. Most movies depend much more on dialogue.

shareIt's too slow, but it's not boring. There's a difference. The story is very interesting, which means it's not boring. I put the playback speed on 1.5 and still found it slow. If you need excitement in your movies, don't watch this. But if you want an interesting story, I recommend this film if you don't mind it going about 15 minutes longer than it should.
