I have seen the first episode. Slow burn, generally somber mood and a more mature effort than the usual MCU fare.

Nothing offensive or insulting. Nothing earth shattering either but I would feel okay going forward with episode two after this.

Oh, and no superhero action at all, which is fine. We’ll see how things develop.

Just watched the second episode. It feels like a George Smiley espionage thriller, but with aliens. Nick Fury scenes feel like a sub-plot to the main narrative of Skrull invasion pf Earth.

Again, a slow burn. This is like the Andor of the MCU.

Even the 1st episode has some "Sciencey-Superhero" stuff involved in a villainy way.

Beaming down from an orbiting space station.
Extreme Shape-Shifting.
Mind-draining Equipment.

But yes, no Super-Hero action per se. However, Hawkeye and Black Widow are Avengers and have Super-Heroy actions.

Technically Nick Fury is a Super-Spy and a DeFacto Super-hero. 😎

Episode 3 adds some "minor" superhero-y action along with some implied superhero infiltration AND with some supervillain origin AND with some Superhero foreshadowing.

Miss a little, miss a lot. 😉

Just watched 3rd episode. Three to go. If you haven’t already started, don’t bother. This show is lame. Lots of dull filler with people standing or sitting around and talking / making quips at each other.

Pacing is terrible. No tension at all. I was hoping for something like 24, but this is not even close.

MCU is so sad now. I haven’t even bothered to watch Black Panther 2, Thor Love Thunder, or Antman 3.

So true. Last good one was SM:NWH.

So funny you wrote this, Ed. I thought I'd start binging it last night and somewhere in the third episode I realized it was a TON of filler and not a lot of story, so I turned it off.

So much people standing around arguing, looking brooding, scheming about nothing... I mean, I'm trying to watch a comic book show about a secret alien invasion.

Good aside from AI opening and Early Deaths
